Halt unneeded spending. Eliminate the disadvantages of capitalism such as American businesses being ran overseas. Encourage the advantages of capitalism such as a truly free market that governs itself. When people are working for people and not the government, things will pick up. We're spending on unneeded things such as new roads. Sure, new roads are nice, but not while we're in a recession. Like Churchill said, "Spending money to reform an economy is like sitting in a bucket and pulling yourself up by the handle."

Increase embargo's on shipments of U.S run/other country produced goods back into America.

Whoops didn't see your post, I've been up for 28 hours so my mind is running a little slow. But yes, I agree with you. The only reason the War on Terror isn't making money, is because we're increasing our spending on parts outside of the U.S. Nothing is made in America anymore.

Pulling troops would make the matters worse over in the middle east. They would do exactly what is happening in Egypt and worse.

well a free market also has its disadvantages. You won't have agencies such as the SEC stopping unfair trading and no government to shut down monopolies.

That is not what would happen, if we pulled out the taliban would control pretty much the entire middle east along with 99% of the worlds oil supply. That is the main reason we are still there. We could have pulled out a long time ago and been ok but now we've dug our hole to deep.
