What's Happening?

Why are there so many accounts from 2011 or earlier all of a sudden logging in? This has been happening for about a week or so and I don't know why.
Could someone explain?

I think their passwords were cracked or something of that nature. Maybe somebody is running a bot?

Philly already said what was happening in a past thread, its a plugin signing in to old account and making them secure or something along those lines.
