What's so special about them?

Thanks,

just hard to find them... and 3 letters go for more than 3 chars.

Well im not sure why 3 letters go for more than 3 characters when in all actuality 3 characters are more rare :/

Never realized it myself.

but 3 letters are 3 characters .... lol and 3 letters are worth more than 3 characters because those most of the time have numbers in them.

Well for one, they are short. Alot of people like a short, clean gamertag.

Nothing they all suck balls.
Edit: i just realized I have 2 3 character tags but they are both spaced but 2 letter/character spaced tags are pretty sick

I think 3 letters are hard to come by because lots of people are using them as initials and acronyms. Mathmatically speaking though a 3 number would be more rare because 0-10 is less than A-Z.

you mean character right? and I can see how letters could be just because of a stupid as accronym but in actuality 3 character including numbers are more rare.

Theyre rare because when the 360 came out they switched the min number of charactersfrom 2 to 4. The only way to get a 3 character or less is A for one to get reset, or B for someone to change their GT.

Bahhahahahahaha, I love this post. Not to be mean or anything, but it's hilarious. On topic, 3 characters theoretically should be worth more due to the lack of combinations. However, people usually prefer 3 letters, because they can give them stupid acronyms, to make them more "legit".

This has nothing to due with the minimum number, they're just all taken, which is why someone has to change their tag or a reset has to occur for you to get one. If the minimum was 4 you still wouldn't be able to have the tag even if someone changed their name.

nevermind mis read..............................

how is that when 3 char you can add #'s nd stuff to therefore making it a lot more of them hence makes it easier to get

Wrong, in the alphabet there is 26 letters. Therefore a 3 letter has 26 x 26 x26 possible combinations for a total of 17576 combinations. A 3 character like NL8, has 26 letters for the first digit then 26 again for the second and then 10 for the final digit. So 26 x 26 x 10 = 6760 possible cobinations, or maybe it's a tag like H71 which is 26 x 10 x 10 = 2600 possible combinations (26 letters, 10 numbers, and 10 numbers).

3 Letter (HBA) = 26 x 26 x 26 = 17576 Possible Combinations
3 Character (NL8) = 26 x 26 x 10 = 6760 Possible Combinations
3 Character (H71) = 26 x 10 x 10 = 2600 Possible Combinations

TL;DR There's less numbers then letters therefore 3 characters should have the higher value on paper.

Note: He mis-read, but I'm leaving it here anyways just for any ones use.

I like how you mentioned my old HBA tag up there

It was my tag first, they were all my tags

well did you trade a $5 tag for it then sell it for HBA for $75?

No I traded it for the AIM Parallel, which was taken from me. Looks like you got the good deal on that tag.
