I mean... is it really a surprise? Who didn't expect the most powerful government in the world to have something fishy going on. And who knows for how long, and who else? Everyone probably. Everyone spies on each other and their own citizens. It's been happening for a long time already
Basically, the NSA are using companies like yahoo, youtube, skype and other shit to spy on the world. The NSA can do what they want with these companies in surveillance ways.
Here's a brief summary of what happened:
NSA tracks basically everything. Some guy leaks it. People got pissed. Unconstitutional things have happened. But as always, everyone says something should be done. Usually nothing is done about it.
I think there's no need to worry about privacy, after all this has been going since 2007. I personally don't know why everyone is freaking out about it. It was pretty obvious things like this were going on during post 9/11. I don't think it is right, but I knew it was going on.
My opinion: I disagree completely with what they are doing, but I am not surprised and am not wasting any mental energy worrying about it. I know I am powerless regarding the situation, as of now.
