Where all our ideas come from

I was lying in bed yesterday at 10:00 PM, the earliest I've been to bed in months since school started today and all I could think of was random topics and concepts. It was almost like I was on a constant high. The same way when you have buzz and you feel the need to question anything and everything; asking things like 'Why is the sky blue?' or 'How are we here?'

Have you guys ever thought about why so many things come to mind when you're sleeping or at least lying awake, restless?

I know myself well enough to conclude that I have a terrible memory when it comes to remembering names, places or even ideas. So, instead, I just write them down, which is what I did last night. Every time an interesting idea that I'd like to find out more about pops into my head or a commercial, song, movie or something I'd like to download or see on YouTube, I'll just lean over my night table and jot it down.

It's always fascinated me the way most of our history's famous inventors' and great thinkers' ideas, such as Albert Einstein, big breakthroughs have occurred overnight through their dreams. Almost like in the popular TV sitcom Seinfeld, when Jerry, a stand-up comedian, gets an idea for his skit while sleeping, he marks it down.

Essentially, our minds are cesspools for knowledge and innovation and I just find it very interesting that we come alive in the night-time.

Do you guys experience the same thing?

I remember that episode of Seinfeld. Stupid room service lady threw the napkin out.
