Which is worse, failing or never trying?

Which is worse, failing or never trying?

I think in this manner, I would have to say never trying is worse than failing because if you never tried then you won't know if you'd fail or succeed. Does anyone else agree or am I the only one?

By the way, leave your answer below.

I would have to agree with you. If you never you'll be stuck with a mind full of doubt. Even if you fail, you'll know what to do the next time you try. "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger"

IMO it really depends. It can be a very big self-esteem drop if you fail, but if you don't try then you'll never know what could happen. Lets's say you like this really beautiful girl for a while and you finally get the guts to ask her out, but she says "no". It can really hurt but if you didn't try you'd spend the rest of your life wondering. In short, I feel it's 50/50. :)

Agreed. It depends. To me, I'd say never trying is worst but I can be wrong because I have my times where my self esteem goes low.
It's based on the person, IMO.

Depends on the circumstance and the consequences, there's no one-for-all definitive answer.

As regards to "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." Hypothetically, if I were to physically and mentally torture you into an insane mental state, would you continue to say that? Try to abstain from using fallacious logic.

This has become way too deep. Um I would say not trying would be worse unless your like trying to jump the Grand Canyon on a trike or something.

I would always rather fail than to have never tried at all. I really hate the feeling of regret for missing out on something simply because I didn't even try. This actually relates to one of my favorite quotes: "I'd rather never finish what I start than never start what I can finish." - Skizzy Mars. :)

Failing.
At least give yourself to try and succeed. If you don't try then you will never know if you could've or not.
I guess it would depend on the situation, though.

Some things you just shouldn't try. I regret doing somethings that I shouldn't have tried.

Failing would lead you to success.
But you always have to try

Depends on the situation ;)

Not trying to kill somebody has a more positive outcome that failing to kill somebody?
