I have observed that the black color is avoided in any auspicious occasions! Generally this color is used to indicate sadness or inauspicious things or moments! Can any one , please explain why it is so? Thanks !

It is a sort of superstitious belief that black color is not auspicious. It might be added that black color might not be so bad as two prominent Hindu gods Ram and Krishna had black complexion. Shyam, a Sanskrit word that means black, is the the popular name of Lord Krishna.
Well I don't know why black is inauspicious as you put it. But for me, black is beautiful. Black is my favorite color when it comes to wardrobe and fashion. It looks cool current and it makes one appear slimmer. Black is also elegant.
In Italy we wear black when we're in mourning, during a funeral and so on... Black is the color of death here: the Reaper wears a black cloak. But it's even a sexy color and it makes you look slimmer too! I love it...

Thumbs up!!! Black is indeed a sexy and elegant color. I feel a lot thinner when I wear black. It also makes skin appear fairer. I love black clothes but my favorite color is purple

I have no idea, but I remember watching the Tyra show, yes, the Tyra show, and they had an episode on colors and what they meant. You should go look it up. It's actually pretty interesting.
