Well it is one of the human rights that we really have to respect and adhere to. Even if they have done something wrong, they are still human and they are entitled to that right. One more thing, it is also to protect their families from humiliation and mockery because after all it is not their fault that they are related or recognized with the criminal especially their immediate family members like the wife and the children. It is very tragic for the family to be associated with a criminal and more often than not they are also judged or viewed as if they are the one who committed the crime itself so in order to protect them the identity of the criminal is not exposed to the public.
