Why do people do this?

Lately, I've been seeing this quote in the bio of gamertags. I'm wondering if this message somehow 'prevents' it from getting banned.

Message:"Stop asking if my account is for sale it is against the code of conduct and Terms of use."
 
I guess it gives them one less reason to ban you, doesn't mean that'll keep you from being banned.
 
Well I put it on all of my accounts in late November right before the ban wave and non of my accounts got banned... So I would rather take two secs and put that in my bio then do nothing.

Same 2 of my acc got banned, so I put it in my bio and it didn't get banned
 
It won't stop you getting banned, if anything it will make you look more suspicious.

If you didn't get banned during the ban wave and you posted your tags on HF or FK then you're just lucky

No, they do this because they feel impressive to their peers when they say that they get offers to buy them all the time.

Nobody interested in buying the tag is actually going to send a message on Xbox, very rarely does that happen. Saying something like that will just attract MS employees to watch your profile, and I don't want my profile being watched if you ask me.

Vouch for this 100% I've used it on all of my accounts not one is banned, Eevee owned the gamertag Particles didnt use the bio I'm guessing it got reported hours later banned fresh silver never recovered. Prevention is better than cure.

babe thanks for reminding me about Particles
it got banned within 10 minutes of it being on FK.
yet i had a thread on HF for 3 days with no problem o.o

I'd rather put it at the bottom of my bio than run the risk of ban sledgehammer.
 
Yeah it does work in a way, I put it on 4 of.my originals and didn't get banned even.know messages of.account selling was sent to and.from my account
 
Ever since my accounts got all perm banned on that ban wave I started putting it, because people told me it would help.
 
It won't do anything...either there's evidence of ToS violation or there's not. If only the solution were this simple.

Maybe that's because Phenom turbo'd it.

Oh yea and people do this because it means they're gay as fuck I was selling tags during the banwave and was smart about it and none of my shit got banned(I'm Junior btw).
 
People are dumb and thinks this works lol MS isn't stupid they know about EVERY oG and EVERYTHING that goes on with them...

Btw this "guy" is my boy lol. He knows me pretty well and has helped me out with things , he wont get banned or in trouble or anything.
 
Everyone dick sucks each other on xbl. After paying there saved up lunch money on a gamer tag they don't want it banned.
