Why haven't we gone back to the moon?

What do you think is the real reason we haven't gone back to the moon since 1972?

Im been really curious for a long time, but had never found anything about it except that people saying they didn't have enough money to fund missions.

Maybe no real reason to go? I am sure they have plenty of moon rocks and shit so they don't need to go.

Really no need to go back, also its very expensive. There's no conspiracy.

theres a shit ton of rumors going around that we where never even on the moon. and if we have gone on the moon. there really isn't any reasons for us to go at the moment. with the economy and stuff USA really doesnt have the money to blow on space travel lolol

No conspiracy. There's simply no money to actually go with. It costs way to much. Also, the atmosphere is in bad shape right now.

There's nothing up there besides rock. It's non-inhabitable. And it costs a fortune to go there.

Better to spend our money on more important things.

No reason to go. I don't think they see the benefit in such a costly exercise. e.g. no research to be gained and so forth

It's sad really, I wish they would put a lot more funding in to space programs. Even if it isn't going to the moon... there are so many worthwhile endeavours.

I remember a kid in class asked the same thing, and my teacher responded "It is alot cheaper to send robots. If a human goes we need to spend alot more money to support them." However it could be transformers up there.

You don't consider the fact that it would cost billions of dollars and that a freaking rocket would be shot towards the moon?

How do you do that without being noticed? And also, why would they go back, it's just a rock floating around our planet.
