Why is my computer slow?

So my brother has been using my computer while ive been at University, and I came home last week for my reading week to do my assignments.

He was wondering if I could fix the computer or make it quicker. So just said ill flatten it and start again, but because it would take a while to reinstall everything ive delayed it until the weekend when he wont need to use the machine for work etc.

Anyway, ive just got on the PC to find a file from ages ago, found 120GB worth of Minecraft videos. And he was wondering why the computer was running slow lol

what in the temporary files or on the hard disk caus if there on the hard drive they shouldn't make the computer slow

Defrag the HDD. Also, run an MBAM scan and check to see if there are any unwanted processes running in the background. I'd also go through and delete unwanted programs and files because a lot of clutter can slow the computer down loads.

It's sorted now, he filed my hard drive so there wasn't any free space.
Gonna reformat it next week.

He asked how he can record without taking up all the HDD space XD
How about dont record the hours of crap and only record when you do something good, or just not at all.

or he could record and just cut out the "hours of [censored]"

But it will take hours just to import the footage into a video editor.
Better to just record what he wants to record xD
