In traditinal Hindu families books on epics like Ramayana, Bhagvad geeta etc are kept and are read. But when it comes to Maha Bharat this Book is ot permitted to keep in our Homes! Can some one explain the reason behind it? Thanks !:Woot:
Hi Dear Rob! I think possibly this epic have lot of quarrels and fights amongst the relatives and cousins and there are many grave injustices and betrayals depicted here in this book, keeping this book may not be encouraged at the homes! Oh yes, at the end cousins only are killed here in this epic who after all are blood kins! This is no way can be appreciated in a peaceful family! Thanks for the response!

I don't know much about it, but i guess it is believed that if you keep Mahabharata in your home because it is about the fight between Kauravas and Pandvas. So, it is believed that it is unlucky since it is about fighting. It is believed that it is like a destroyer of peace and all. but i'm not sure how much of this is true.
