Why the Reputation System need to be removed

The whole rep system is flawed and is pointless.

1) Rep for rep, that's all it is
2) Revenge rep, people are butthurt
3) Sympathy rep, butthurt people rep
4) Threads about people be repped
5) Random rep
6) Do things for rep

That is about 95% rep on this forum.


Some people see rep has a way to judge people, but it's for sure not accurate.
Rep is just a game.

I agree, But if there is nothing to show how people feel about users then we all feel isolated.

On the forum I'm mod on, we just removed neg rep.

if you don't want to increase their rep. Simple, dont' rep them. There is no need to de-rep some one, rep some one when you feel fit, and when not, just let it go.

Should remove neg rep here imo.

Agreed. If possible just remove the (-) rep... Several forums removed this thing because of abuse.
Like someone said above REP is a game not fair but it is...

Vouches on the other hand is an awesome feature that need to be kept.

removing the (-) rep would solve the problem. Go ahead and put neutral if you want, but it means nothing.

otherwise, all that there will be is (+) rep.

Though, that can still be abused. But that's why there is a text box for people to say why the repped them the way they did. People will read them and determine whether or not the rep is legit.

Rep means nothing when it comes to being legit anyways... Woopdidoo i got a bunch of kids who de-repped me for being a ass hole. Don't see how that's relevant to trading one bit.

I dis-agree. I think it's fine to leave rep on, it's just rep. Negative rep is for people who think negatively of someone. Neutral, is eh, just that. I think it's fine the way it is.

Did you not read what I said clearly? You should try rereading it

I said to get rid of negative rep, keep positive, and make sure the positives are legit. A legit rep would be giving somebody + rep for them actually doing something nice/good. Like, a good trade. While putting a vouch, they could also +rep them. If a trade with the player went bad, they could negative vouch them, and leave a nuteral rep saying "beware of this player, look at vouches!" or something (example)

A non-legit rep would be a +rep saying something that has nothing to do with being a good person/doing something good.

Though in the end, no. Rep means nothing, and i have said that multiple times. I'm just thinking outside of the box as I say this. I wouldn't care either way if rep stayed or went.

It can be abused to give bias opinions on members which could put-off new members from communicating with said individuals.

No, I read your post and I'm saying it doesn't matter if +repping was abused because it doesn't matter for trading lol

Then just ignore the rep and look at vouches. If you prefer to trade more than anything, just look at vouches. Rep has nothing to do with trading either way

Doesnt' matter to me, I wouldn't go first regardless. Nor do I accept paypal from randoms\low vouches. So their rep is still irrelevant to me.

Then why would insist on doing that. There are two choices, you pick one or the other.

They could have 4741489031 -rep, ill trade with the person with more vouches. Rep is completely unrelated to trading, which is why you dont even see people's rep in the marketplace section

The rep system is useful In my mind but Yea its my opinion alone

Yeah your right about everything there,

I see certain people that rep people for no reason, saying like 'have some apples' pointless and useless.
