People that have quit smoking, or still smoke, have fond memories and associations attached with cigarettes and can't help it. People that have never smoked but are critical, have absolutely no understanding of the desire to smoke, and for some reason feel that they are somehow qualified to preach constantly about something they don't know anything about. Everyone else just enjoys talking about something with an edge. Remember that Lauren Hill song, "That Thing." It's just edge, danger. People are drawn to it like a moth to a flame. No pun intended.
