Why would anyone worship Jesus?

There are wars in the name of Christ. People kill in the name of Christ constantly. The return of Christ is also supposed to bring the "end of the world". The rapture refers to a time when Christ will descend from heaven, kill everyone, and take the true believers back with him to heaven.

IDK.. I'm athiest and I think Jesus and religion is just false hope for people, like recycling. God talked to loads of people in the bible, where's all that now?.. If god made us, why would he give us the ability to question him, question anything? To turn against him etc.

I believe in Evalution.

I don't believe in any kind of religion, but I do believe that everyone should have something to live for, and everyone should have something to believe in, so if you believe in Jesus/God, that's your choice, whatever gets you where you go.

"Religion is like a Penis. It is great to have one. It is great to be proud of it. Just please do not whip it out in public and start waving it around, And don't try to shove it down my throat."

Before this thread gets out of hand, and anyone gets criticized. I am for one an Ex-Atheist, who is a Christian.

Oh man, I see you've done so much research.
The rapture refers to a time when Christ will descend from heaven, kill everyone, and take the true believers back with him to heaven.

Kill everyone, which is false. Everyone will be judged.

You my friend, have been tuning into to much West Boro's website a bit to much.

Hm, Jesus a false hope? Alright, I'll cut this short, since you probably don't care to hear me out anyways, 'cause I may seem like a religious baboon to you.

Ever heard of the Shroud of Turin?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shroud_of_Turin

It's probably one of the only keys to tell the world that he did in-fact live, and resurrect.

I myself believe in Evolution, and that doesn't at all contradict my beliefs.

@[Danger Close] I don't really see how the shroud of Turin is sure proof Jesus was alive and resurrected from the dead

In what proof does it have nothing to do with it?

It's over 2,000 years old. It has a mans face on it, which is compared to what Jesus may have looked like.

Oh yes, I remember the days of me using that site as a source.

To bad many of it is dishonest and unintelligent.

religion in my opinion is bullshit, its a waste of time and its only purpose is to make people that have nothing to do with there lives commit to something they don't even know exists and not to mention a complete waste of time.

Interesting how almost every time there is a religious debate, it is started by a atheist, yet you almost always say, "oh don't shove your religion stuff down my throat." Then STOP shoving your thoughts down OUR throats. It's pathetic and childish. If I believe Jesus is my savior sent by God, it is my right as a person.

It says right on the wiki link you gave it was radiocarbon dated to be made around 1260-1390. And I don't really understand how a drawing of a guys face proves he was resurrected from the dead or even has anything to do with Jesus

Here is one:

All other gods bodies have been found, or remains of their bodies, yet Jesus Christ's body has never been, nor will ever be found.

Or this one:

A year or two ago there was a show on Discovery channel, a group of people, atheists, or some sort of non-christians were hosting a show trying to prove the bible wrong by visiting some places that the Bible mentioned. Out of the many, many episodes, they never once proved the Bible wrong. Why you may ask? What other reason other than it is true, factual information?

Wow, I really thought you could do some research.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shroud_of_Turin_Research_Project
"We can conclude for now that the Shroud image is that of a real human form of a scourged, crucified man. It is not the product of an artist. The blood stains are composed of hemoglobin and also give a positive test for serum albumin. The image is an ongoing mystery and until further chemical studies are made, perhaps by this group of scientists, or perhaps by some scientists in the future, the problem remains unsolved."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radioc..._Turin#Chemical_properties_of_the_sample_site
The shroud was also damaged by a fire in the Late Middle Ages which could have added carbon material to the cloth, resulting in a higher radiocarbon content and a later calculated age.
