Windows 7 BlackScreen

Last night, my windows explorer stopped responding. So my natural habit was to wait a few minutes to see if it started up again and if it didn't, I would restart it. So I restarted it and got to the login screen, everything is fine and dandy until I actually login. It seems explorer won't start as I can move my mouse.

Are there any solutions?

Hm try rebooting it with safe mode, if that doesn't work I really don't know what else you could do.. You could re install windows but that's a last resort thing P:

I've tried to boot it in safemode and I still get the same thing. I don't have a OS disk so that's a problem aswell.

Could be a virus. If you can't even boot in safe mode, then i wouldn't know what to do besides a complete reinstallation of the OS. Try downloading it on another pc and burning it on to a disk.

I'm attempting a system restore now. Maybe this will work. If not I'll just restore it to the factory default.

edit: I fixed the problem, thanks to all who tried to help me. Requesting a close now.
