Windows vs Mac vs Linux/Ubuntu (Whatever they're called)

What's your favourite OS and most importantly WHY?

This is something for my college course, I need to 'Market Research' but I thought I'd start a discussion for it too.

Personally; I use windows.

Why?

Because I like how it runs, I don't like how a mac 'is' in general and I've only ever used Linux once and it didn't work properly for me.

I like the simplicity of windows.
I like the look.
I like how it's stable (so to speak).

Windows 7, the only thing I really like is that GUI is user friendly. Also, it supports most of favorite programs.

Windows and Linux.

Here's why:

Windows - I've been using windows since 97 and this is because you can do whatever the fuck you want, without having ristrictions. Unlike IOS/Mac. Plus, IOS or Mac is too 'Easy' for me. It's aimed towards people who don't like computers and are fucking rich but then again, I can't fault the hardware Apple use.

Linux - Nerd OS. Nuff' said.

Windows:

advantages:

- Good for the more basic internet user, great family OS.
- More programs made because theres a bigger market.
- Generally more secure because of it being closed source (exclude IE)

Disadvantages:

- Malware writers always target the windows user.
- Do not have freedom on a windows box.
- Always asks stupid stuff like "Do you really want to delete the items in your recylcle bin)
- Consumes much more system resources than other os's


Linux:

Advantages:

- Very effeicient to run (consumes less resources than a windows os)
- Free open source software
- Barely any malware kits that target a linux os.
- Give you freedom to do what you want without getting asked stupid shit.
- Great free tools.

Disadvantages:

- More exploits are coded to target linux because its an open source software
- Not good for a basic pc user.


Idk about mac, but i run a linux distro on all my pc's.
