Xbox/Gamertag Question

Well Shams, got you lot a wee question about tags.

So buying and selling gamertags has been around for a very long time. Going back to 2011 on this forum exactly and prob further back offsite.

[font=Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif]Microsoft is a constantly growing organisation so how are they catching tags that are selling now? if you don't say anything on messages and swap tags to freshies, how in the earth can they catch you like?  [/font]

[font=Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif]I heard a few stories where people who have just swapped to freshies were banned. HOW can Microsoft prove they were sold?, anyone can change their tag and anyone can claim them.. its part of a service they provide. [/font]

They can track all shit. People who actually do keep it lowkey don't have too many issues.
Not to mention some just have consoles that get raped.

I'm sure some tags have survived from the old days, @Christy or @Chill may be able to answer this better than me.

About the freshie thing, i think maybe Microsoft keep record of how many accounts a specific tag has been on. then when they look into it , they can be like, "OMG this tag been on 50 accounts in the past month" *Banned for purchased or theft* . There's like 10+ tags that I'm aware of that was swapped in the last 2 weeks. Different owner , some very lowkey tags. Some tags was swapped only twice ever in 6 years etc.

All perm banned. I highly advise not to swap anytime soon. Either you will get turbod (very likely) , limbo , glitched (happening a lot , I swapped a tag 9 times in one day and glitched every time ) and will end up getting 9999 perm banned.
