You ever thought of using MyAlerts (notifications system)?

I think many of the members here would find this really handy. Especially the "get notified when quoted" option, because this community has a very active marketplace and you get lots of posts like "How much do you want?" and "Is $XX enough?" etc. Some people forget about those posts and forget to read the reply, meaning they miss out on the product they wanted.

You don't need to worry about it not functioning properly on a big-board, as it works perfectly on mine (it's a revelation tbh).

I did check to see if this topic was already made and I found no such thread - surprised to be honest, this plugin has been requested for so long in the MyBB community.

i always figured there was an option already in the usercp and i was just too lazy to turn it on. but yeah if we dont hve it already then implement it. it sounds really useful.

MyAlerts
A simple notification system for MyBB inspired by xenforo and IPB.

MyAlerts is a notification system inspired by those found within XenForo and Invision power Board. It notifies your members of certain actions relating to their accounts occurring around the forum with a small alert in the header.

MyAlerts can also be easily extended by other plugin authors wishing to hook into the plugin to add alerts for actions happening within their own plugin. For more details on this, see here: https://github.com/euantor/MyAlerts/wiki/Integrating

MyAlerts also allows both administrators and users to choose exactly which alerts to receive so your users don't get bogged down by useless alerts they're not interested in and bigger board owners can disable more intensive alert types such as quote alerts.

We styled it ourselves though (if you don't know how to, euantor can help you out I'm sure). You can also set how many times it flushes/clears the notifications in ACP which is handy for big-boards, we have ours set to three times a week atm.

Yeah I like euantor. The only downfall I was thinking of the list getting so big especially for me. But sense you say we can set it to clear like every other day or something than that would be fine.

That's all you're going to want since loads of people will reply to your thread, I have the same issue. I removed the notification received when being PM'd option because no one needs a notification as there's a default big green alert anyway.

You can set what people can enable/disable in ACP too.
