Do you stream movies/TV shows daily? Are you tired of having to find the best streaming websites out there? Are you tired of having to find reliable sources and DVD quality streams? Well in this thread, I'm going to show you how you can do all this through a program called XBMC.
Step 1) Go to http://xbmc.org/download/ and download the Windows version of Frodo 12.3. This is available on multiple platforms but I'm just going to be doing a PC tutorial today.
Step 2) Once the file is finished downloading, go ahead and install it. The install process is self explanatory. Just accept the terms, choose your install location and it will install from there.
Step 3) Open the program. Hover over "Videos" and click "Add-ons". You will see that there are no add-ons. This means you're going to have to manually install some. There are some in the "Get More" section if you click it, but they aren't the ones I use for movies/TV shows.
Step 4) Go to home by clicking the home icon at the bottom right of the application. You should now see the menu you seen when you first opened the program. Go all the way to the right and click "File Manager"
Now click "Add Source" in the A root and enter everything you see in the following image and click "Ok".
Step 5) Now go back to the home screen again(right click) and click on "Settings" and click "Add-ons".
Now click "Install from zip file". A menu should open and you should see the source you just added. Click on "Mash" and click "Ok" and it should install.
Once installed, go to Get Add-Ons > All Addons by Mash > Video Add-ons. You should see "MashUp". Click on it and hit install. It should install the repo and YouTube.
Step 6) You may go back to the home screen again(right click till you're there) and go back to Videos > Add-ons.
You should now see that the Mashup and YouTube add-ons were installed. Now you can click on "Mashup" and it should open a video when you first open it. Just hit the stop button and it will close.
Hover over to the far right and make sure you're viewing as a thumbnail.
And you're done.
HD Releases are for movies that have just been released on the web that are DVD quality(720, 1080p). New Releases are for movies that have just been uploaded and are still in theaters, which are normally cam versions of the movie. So if you're patient, just wait for a DVD quality version to be released.
What you do from here is self-explanatory and you should be able to find your way around the app easily.
If you found this little tutorial helpful, please leave a thank you post.
