Your religion.

What makes your religion different from the hundreds of other religions in the world? What makes your religion right/true?

This is just a question I would like to ask to some of the religious peoples on here.

If your god wants you to believe in him why would he make you choose him over another god with no proof? Sadly you most likely were born into believing in a religion and you ended up being raised as what ever you are. Because I know I was.

I figured I would make a thread on a question that's been bugging me, instead of being on my dick there's 20 other members who have posted a farewell thread and came back. I have made around ten posts in the past few months it's not like I am back.

Sorry you are still butthurt after I disproved your only proof I am a multi.

I think agnostic is the word. I'm agnostic. I don't believe in any of the religions out there right now, but I do feel that there is a greater energy or god above us.

I don't adhere to any religious doctrine. However, I think it's extraordinarily coincidental and immensely convenient that everyone believes to be born into the right faith.

Agnostic is not the word. Agnostics claim to not know whether or not a god exists. (Agnostics are all consequentially atheists for they lack a belief.) You cannot assert a god exists whilst simultaneously claiming you do not know if a god exists.

Theist seems to be the word you're seeking.

Why do people get bothered by religion so much?

Usually when you attack something that someone likes, that person feels like you are attacking them. People do this for many things, music taste, sports, etc.

That's an immensely ignorant question to ask during the age of information. Look at human history, i.e the Crusades, 9/11, the bombings, the constant warfare. Look at extremist groups like the Westboro Baptist Church. Look at the situation happening in Palestine, Gaza. Look at ISIS and other terrorist organizations. Look at the Middle East in general. Look at the oppression of women, homosexuals, etc. Look at the toxic mix of nationalism and Christianity in the USA. Look at the damn statistics. Look at all the injustice in the world that can be rooted to religion. All of this, entirely preventable, and unnecessary suffering.

Religion poisons everything. When a great portion of humanity sincerely think there's an omnipotent, eternal, sociopathic, egocentric, bearded white man in the sky who dictates mundane doctrines and your chance at eternal paradise or subsequent eternal hellfire once you're dead, it's bound to affect everything; for everything is bound by cause and effect.

Yeah, definitely bordering the grounds of an oxymoron, however, they do exist.

Not trying to be an ass, but can you give me an example of one?

I enjoy learning new things

That was a very ignorant answer. I don't think you fully grasped my question. I was talking about people like you who have this fantasy that religion causes all the worlds problems. And then complain about all the unnecessary problems. They're so predictable. And just to clarify I'm not super religious and I'm not an atheist either. I'm just observing an argument between two sides, both of which are pointless. Religion isn't the cause of these problems. Sick people cause these problems. And in fact, being an "atheist" doesn't make you any smarter or different from believing in a God. If you can't understand that statement then just stop reading now because this is obviously over your head. Lets use your logic "Religion is the cause of unnecessary suffering" and expand on it. Because you didn't, and athiests never do and never will. 1.) Because it is not true. And 2.) because there is not - and never will be- a way to prove it. They just imply that without religion there wouldn't be terrorists, wars, bombings, etc. That is probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard. There will be wars as long as there are humans. We will always find stupid shit to argue and kill each other over. That's the world. And you have a hard time realizing that, so you default on saying it's religion. But if religion disappeared and people still dropped bombs and shot up schools then you would find something new to bitch about. That's the one FACT in this situation.
