Can someone tell me how to fully secure a youtube?

I also want to know if I need to activate google + on a tenure YouTube because I had one before and it just randomly removed my channel and linked g+, was it just random or do I HAVE to link g+ in order to use my channel?

on my tenure i don't have g+ linked, it doesn't need to be linked.

just add your mobile and change emails twice with a fresh pw and you'll be good.
