By definition, he sounds like a cult leader. When has there ever been solid evidence of miracles actually happening?

He is one. However, my point was that he can't prove God has spoken to him. Never, which precisely adds to my point that God has not spoken to him.

People like to out their faith in something, with me personally it's family.. But for those less fortunate god is their backup. I agree with the OP but to each their own, it's only when we start insulting eachother's life styles than it becomes an issue.

Why do you think they're are different representations of "GOD" in different cultures ?

There are different deities and gods, because they originated from different locations, hence different cultures. It's pretty self-explanatory.

Most of these are just opinions.

I say otherwise, so please elaborate.

Where do you think the original concept of "GOD" or a superior being originated from ?

I dont think anyone can say for certain. Early man, when we evolved enough to have the ability to question our existence and fathom various possibilities. To be fair, at such an infant stage of existence I dont think the speculation of a higher power, intelligent engineer or something of that sort to be ridiculous. We know much more now, however we are still at that infant stage as a majority in many aspects. I believe there are those who have the answers, and they are far greater than we ever imagined. I believe there are only 3 ways to come upon them:

1. Obtain an extremely high ranking in some area of the military or government, maybe the 51st :p

2. Have an out of body experience.. be it through DMT, meditation, there are several ways

3. Death, which is the easiest, but the most unsure. I have not experienced it yet (not that I can remember anyway) so I cant say this for certain. I cant say any of this for certain. Im just offering other routes of exploration that hold more merit to me than clinging to a god I know does not exist.

Oh, and the fourth of course, science.

Shooting stars and comets, eclipses, meteoroids, and tsunamis and earthquakes. When primitive men saws these thing, they theorized why. They were signs of the end of the world was their conclusion, because that's how it appeared to be. This is precisely like how the hypothesis that Earth was flat originated, because it appears that way from their limited observation and knowledge. Most of the other signs such as the seas will turn to blood red most likely originated from folklore and mythology.

The concept of God arose the exact same way, because it appeared to be that way from their limited observation and knowledge.

One of my good friends was really offended when I showed this to her. She took to google to argue with each one of these points. Needless to say, she was impressed that a person our age came up with and wrote all of these points. Amazing work, Cann!bal.

It's better to believe in something than discredit and mark it as rubbish.

I believe in logic, reason, and science. However, faith is not a virtue; believing without evidence is never a good thing nor will it ever be a good thing.
