My particular reason is I'd prefer to know if someone is on if I need them. It would be annoying as fuck to not know when people are on or last were, especially considering staff does it. I don't give a shit if you're trying to play a super safe e-thug, the most depth it ever goes into with what your doing is what thread you're viewing. That's not personal information. Well if you need to know when they are on ask them to pm you when they are on, or add them on AIM or another Skype, if they're that important you would want to be able to contact them should something happen to FK, or they go offline for a couple days.

Stop getting all aggressive and accusatory because you're not getting you way. It looks bad on anyone.
