These are shoes I would wear for business casual. Personally, I prefer Nike and sports shoes for looks however dockers are comfortable.
 
They look like uglier vans with a bigger price tag and probably less durability....

btw the midsole on common projects are stitched and glued to the shoe unlike vans which are just glued
