Are you in favor of Death Penalty?

Is it really right to punish people by killing them? Or is there any other way around to reprimand them with their faults? Do you believe that death penalty can solve the issues with crimes? Or does it violates human rights?

It's a bad and awfull thing to do, If u stop and think about it, u actuelly release the person from pain and suffer.
If the person is really that bad he shoud suffer slowly like lifelong in prison.

i reported him as well, You got a point buddy, but what if the kind of crimes he'd been with is unbearable? would you still prefer the lifetime sentence? what if the type of person is a public enemy, raping innocent young girls, killing households??? theft? drug addiction?? and the other crimes is really alarming? doesn't he deserves death penalty?

no, becouse then he doesent suffer like his victems did and he dies a quit and unpainfull death, wich is unfair, prison is a place where ge can suffer for the rest of his life.

that's a good point, but there's a possibilty for these criminals to escape? to find ways and turn upside down the judiciary system? politically i'm speaking (i'm pointing out kind of individuals who have the power like the masterminds)...

I would rather see someone bad be killed than in prision forever. If you think well, what if that guy killed one of you familly. Would you prefer to kill him or send him to prision forever? And the worse thing is that some times they escape from prision.

I used to be. But after seeing so many people on death row proven inocent. Im not sure now. Unless they were caught by police red handed. You cant believe the witness any more. So Id say Im against it, in most cases.

For me im not favor of death penalty...nobody has the right to take away others human life.there is a prison,,let them suffer them for life time but takking away human life is not accepted for me..

I feel a moral confusion, if people misbehave must be punished, punished enough being locked in a jail, but I dont think the death penalty solves nothing. Although many of the criminal acts of these people make me feel like hitting them.

For those who aren't favor I might ask you a question. What if your family or love one has been killed by a criminal due to a petty crime only (robbery, mugging, snatching of things)? Do you think prison officials can monitor them and can guarantee their sentence?

I'm in favor of this because people nowadays don't fear doing crimes because they are being sent to the prison. Well they get VIP treatment (If they are rich enough) or allowing them to pay a bail or worst is they escape their detention cells. If death penalty is legal, maybe some criminals will try to think that, hey death penalty is legal here, don't be caught or you'll be dead.

nope not in favor one bit killing should always be the very last option, but sadly people do wreckless things and dont think about whats gonna happen in the future and end up getting in trouble with the law

I totally disagree with death penalty! I value life and even though a man would be the public enemy number, still he is a human and we as human should not take lives of another, that is against the rule of God.
I would rather see the man suffer in prison than take away his life!

me im not in favor of death penalty because only GOD can get our lives i prefer in life time sentence to the people that have big cases.. :Smile:

for me death penalty is not a good punishment .

like here in our country we don't have death penalty here.

we give people chance to have a new and better life after their punishment.

I agree by my two hand ! We should quick that punishment ! We can't treat the murderers by murder them right ? And we can still keep the punishment that keep them in jail for their whole life !

I am in favor of death penalty, it is one good way of lessening the population of the earth which we know we are already overpopulated.

And for the same reason that they just don't put people in death penalty for some reason but they also have thought about it. It means they really did do a grave crime which is only punishable by death.

So for those who are not in favor of Death Penalty let me ask you this if ever bin laden is caught alive and just sentenced to life in prison do you think it is fair (remember the 9/11)?

In Islamic law death penalty and its application into criminal and political field have had a long and contradictory history, mostly because of the overlapping of religious society and political society and because of the variety of historical periods.

The Quran, basic point of reference, summarizes prophet Mohammed's(SAW)religious and social action. Also the 'Urf (local consuetudinary law) and the Shâri'a (system of the juridical-religious laws fixed on the foundations of the Koran, of the real prophetical tradictions - Hadîth -, of the communitary consent - Ijma' -, of the reasoning conducted likewise the Koran's laws and of the tradiction). The Koran provides the retaliation law for the murderers, the death penalty for the adulterous women (which must be shut at home without food or lapidated).

Still nowadays, law of Islamic countries (like Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Iran) follows the Shâri'a, a very hard law which provides death penalty in many cases and which is strictly applied. Inequalities among Muslims and non-Muslims in law application and variety of punishments can be explained not with racism, but with the religious principle that bases the hierarchy of juridical people on the Shâri'a. The highest grade of responsibility before the law is for the Muslim man sound of mind and legally married: his life is protected with precedence by the legal system. Then comes the free Muslim woman legally married, the Muslim slave-man, the Muslim slave-woman and the infidels.

Judges, depending to their opinion, can choose whether applying the Shâri'a or privileging punishments like imprisonment or penalty; rural people, instead, apply, for sexual crimes which involve the honour of a family, the 'Urf. Authorities are harder when they have to remove the old right of revenge which brings useless bloodshed

I don't think that Death Penalty can solve the problems regarding issues on crime in a country. Did you know that Suicide Attempt before leads you to Death Penalty?
