I am not in favor of death penalty. I believe that since God gave life, He is the only one who could take it away. Life is not for us to take. If you are the person who will initiate death penalty wouldn't your conscience haunt you for life? I don't think we should punish a sinner by being a sinner to. Death penalty can be equated to murder because it is still a form of intentional killing.
Instead of death penalty we could punish heinous crimes by life imprisonment. In this way the person in question will have a whole life to repent and think about his faults.
