I think bot nuke was brilliant:no more gold farmers, and skilling has become enjoyable again.

i dont think its changed. People still bot just using other programs, 99 percent of world 1's population is playing some stupid gambling game or scamming people in the grand exchange. I dont think runescape will be back until they put a trade limit back on. And get a bot nukethat will actually work...

I voted no; however it really depends on the content you like to see in games.

Botting made Runescape Runescape if you ask me. Don't get me wrong it was a fun game back when I played legitimately, but in a busy life such as mine, (with school, sports, and all sorts of other activities) I didn't have time to mindlessly click away at a fishing spot for hours on end. That's where botting came in. It let me be away and busy while I trained to get the skill I wanted so I could have all the benefits with minimal work. Without botting there's just too much work involved for me to have the motivation to work for my skills so I can be rewarded with the many benefits that comes with training a skill. So now I just don't play because I can't find it fun. But the question of whether Runescape is more fun without botting really comes down to your preferences as a gamer. If you don't mind repetitive gameplay, Runescape still has a lot to offer for you. It has a very high work to reward ratio and will deliver to those who have the time to put into the game.

I think, because of that Runescape is always going to be just Runescape. It's not going to be anything more or anything less (unless the playerbase dies down). Runescape isn't moving in any direction because the content is always so repetitive. Even if they were to pump out a new skill, for example. It's always going to be click this, click that, click some more, and repeat 50,000 times to get to level 99. The quests are the only thing I would find fun if I were to play again with no botting. That seems to be one of the only things in the game that doesn't tend to be as repetitive.
Jagex also seems to have a 'fix whats not broken' mentality of their updates. I can't speak for recent updates, but back before botting was "abolished" they always had some tweak, which they thought was small, but had a large impact on the game.

Because of it's repetitive gameplay, and in my opinion, sub-par production quality, Runescape is always just going to be that browser MMO I used to play. In a day and age where technology increases more and more every day, Runescape being a browser MMO, is going to fall behind in terms of unique content and will always be bested by another MMO.

It was nice while it lasted, but it's also frustrating at the same time, i don't have time to grind all my skills and quest ya know?

If nobody has the time to play this game then why do you even play at all? Your missing the point of this game.

Truth be told, I never enjoyed runescape when I had the option or the ability to bot freely.

Now that bots are gone, I was bored for the first week for so, but got introduced to a merchanting clan and from then on I have looked at Runescape at a whole new different way.

Now I look at it as a challenge to make x amount of gold per day and to accomplish certain tasks such as skilling or raising combat levels or even questing. Without the friendship I have gained with my peers in the clan, I probably would have quit. Friends, weather they be in real life or from the internet really do make things enjoyable :)

Bots made me not interact much whereas without bots it caused me to make friends in the game and get involved with the social side of Runescape :)

People who don't have time are often doing other things that are important. When I played Runescape, I botted and while I went to school and work I botted. On weekends I used my account to enjoy myself with friends.

Not missing the point of all, Botting creates time and fun for those who don't have the free time in the first place.

Actually there are still gold farmers, Many of them just do foreign worlds or time zones where nobody plays often. Skilling will be skilling, boring to train and barely anyone talks.

Then again you could argue while you are in school or doing other things such as interacting socially in real life, you could be getting a chaotic rapier, maul or staff. To enjoy some great trips with your friends. The advantages of botting is truely to high to ignore, along with the huge gold farming potentially you could have once you have a high level account.

On one hand you have to take into account the effects of botting and what it has caused but on the other, what has happened by taking it away?

Bots have always been around runescape. Even the basic colour ones, since then, bots have evolved and adapted to suite playing styles and have become more human like than ever. Bots gave us a stable econamy, which for some, such as pkers and pvmers enjoyed, since they could get their supplies for rock bottom prices. However, skillers disliked this as there overall Gp/h decreased as they had to sell there items for less. Legit skillers now have an unstable econamy, which, for example, means that chinchompas are up to 1.5k/ea. This flips the board, pvmers and pkers, although they have less competetion to deal with in terms of training spots, have more to pay for their supplies. People can also have a life withought botting, which means they can enjoy watching their levels increase, while they are having fun outside or working at work.

All in all. Bots are both good and bad, however, as soon as powerbot comes back, im sure we'll all be botting again :)

The bots kept the market stable, since the nuke it's been harder for people who make there money from merching to make money because the prices are never stable.

I believe it's more enjoyable.

Yes, the Eco isn't as stable, but it gives a challenge, more of a real feeling to it, perhaps.

No more fighting for spots nearly taken over by bots.

My two cents would definitely be placed on YES!
I mean to put it stoutly, look at how fun a private server can be.. are there bots? No, and it's damned fun because it's all self achievement even if that means countless hours of grinding to top that next player up on the ranks and you can feel good knowing you did it all yourself... Isn't that the real purpose of an MMORPG; for healthy competition and fun?

I think RuneScape is better off without bots,

First off why would you bot? At the end you still don't know anything about the game and why even bot it if your not going to play it anyway...

Skillcapes will also have more meaning , when i wear my craft cape i get flamed by people saying that I've botted the skill when i actually spend a lot of my time into that skillcape, its pretty much a bit demotivating.

Without bots the training area's wouldn't be crowded as it is now... lets say for example people at the hill giants don't stand a chance against a botter since the bot reaction time is INSANE , legit people can't keep up anymore.

Economy , Well all the botters are doing things like telegrab zamorak wine for making money, most of them sell them at low price which causes the prices to drop IMMENSE that also the reason whips , GS's and other items are price dropped.

Sense off achievement , well this is pretty self explainable i think you would feel better if you can say "damn took a long time but i finely got it" instead off "meuh I'll just bot it for a week and get it to 99"

Thats about it, tell me when i'm incorrect at some points :p
