Hey guys, I bought an account a long time ago from a guy named DrunkIdle on runegear (138 cb), and the account got recovered the next day... (lost $150)

Anyways, we should have a rule that recovery tests are mandatory from now on when it comes to selling runescape accounts just to ensure safety of the account.

-----Below is an example, it doesn't have to be an admin-----
● Seller gives recovery information to Admin(Techno)
● Admin(Techno) recovers the account and waits 12 hours to see if the recovery is successful
● If the recovery is successful, seller proceeds with sales

This would give the buyer a low chance of getting the account recovered, it would be useful.

What do you think

Finally a nigga with common sense.

Ok, I'll make this easy for you to understand.

>BUYER BUYS ACC
>ACC DOESNT GET RECOVERED
>BUYER IS HAPPY
>SELLER IS HAPPY

RE: READDDDDDDDD

The management team isn't here to do recovery question tests for everyone selling accounts, we all have more important things to do rather than specialize in the marketplace section.
Shouldn't/Could this be part of a middle mans job?

@"iolaka", being a smartass on your suggestion thread isn't going to help it be approved.
If anything it could be one step closer to another ban of yours.
Anyways, you should try strengthening your first post since members are confused about what you are suggesting, including myself.
Maybe a chart, diagram, or how this "test" would work between the buyer, the seller, and the person operating the test.

Just because you do this *recovery test*, doesn't mean the original owner can't recover.

I just say don't buy accounts at all because no matter what, if the owner still lives in the same house and has the same computer as when he made the account, his recovery will be almost 90% successful. The original owner should have everything he needs to recover it, and he will be able to.

But, I do get where you're coming from and if a MM is willing to do that, then he should.

This.

Even if you can make a full recovery without any problems, you still are not guaranteed anything.

If too many recoveries are going back and forth between an account on 2 different I.P.'s, Jagex will eventually look into it. When they do, they will just give the account to the original owner and stop all the recovery attempts to the other I.P..

So, your best bet would be to just not buy an account at all.

After reading @"Chewbaka"'s post, I came up with a question.
What is a recovery test? As in, what does the "test" prove/disapprove?
Would it help reduce the number of scammers or would it eradicate them?

It would still help.

RE: READDDDDDDDD

When I MM account trades, I make sure both people know I am not responsible for any recoveries and warn each person what can happen so they know. That's the best I can do.

This is true, but I think it is a good idea to spread around.
There probably won't be any official people dealing with this kind of stuff, so you'd probably be better off listing it as an agreement in your threads, OP.

You can do even better by doing a recovery test.
50% less chance of the account getting recovered.

It could possibly reduce the number of scammers.

I will do that in every MM from now on.

Obviously you didn't read what I said, lol...

Even if you change the recovery questions, do everything you can, the person can still get the account back as long as they are the original owners.

Jagex will eventually decline your appeal attempts and just give the account to the original owner.

Recovery tests will do nothing but waste your time.

Obviously, but atleast you know that you have a better chance of keeping the account secure.
