Disallow Advertising

I agree with @Beware on this one, only power / power+ members should be able to advertise in their signatures.

Why is this a problem...Its nothing major.
I have only seen one RealForums advertisement in this forum :/ And its in the correct section. I did a search for the Term 'Real Forum' and noticed only 2 threads were directly linked to term.
I also haven't seen spam of advertisement.
If you find signatures with Ads annoying than just disable signatures. Its not like signatures show something urgent lol.

You clearly aren't that active then. People spam-advertise all the time on this forum. @'Jimmy' is known for doing it consistently for every forum he is involved with. I'm good friends with him, but it's getting on my nerves, especially after being around when he was doing the same with IcyForums. That was simply outrageous and others were getting annoyed too.

It's annoying seeing the same thread bumped every couple of hours with stats of the forum in hopes that they can get some kind of activity on a forum that will most likely die in a few weeks anyways. I simply don't care for it, nor do I want to see it every time I'm searching for threads.

I never said it wasn't a problem, @'Jimmy'. I also never said you were breaking any rules. I simply want a rule to be removed and that is advertising in general because certain people abuse it and spam-advertise like yourself.

Your not allowed to advertise in your signature.

You must pay to advertise.

The only exception to these rules is the webmaster/showcase section.

I dislike this idea cause if I'm a member of another HQ forum I'd like to rep it,
I could understand if image advertisements aren't allowed unless paid for or something,
But still both seem pointless to me

So your telling me that when you search something up you somehow manage to find advertising? Also you say you don't care for it than why bother making this thread. If you're really that bothered than don't bother looking at the webmaster section, its a dry section and you already know that its going to be filled with ads of forums.

I'm extremely bothered by it because everyone, especially the owners of these forums spam-advertise and I come here to converse with the community and actually read some interesting threads, not look at people spam-advertising their shitty forum that's not going anywhere.

I find it funny how everyone who is against this suggestion, is advertising a forum.

Fair enough, but I would still disagree to it. This suggestion is a lost cause any ways, this topic has come up multiple times and is always faded from the scene
