Does God Exist?

In my mind, God does not exist.
I think what exist is some perfection or higher power that people can belive in to give them some hope that all will be fine, and comfort them in their hour of need.

When you think about it, before God there was multiple gods, in many places people even worshiped trees, spirits etc.
In conclusion (and no disrespect on your religions) god does not exist, what exist is every humans fantasy of some perfection they can trust and belive in. Religion(or God) gives an icon or a picture to reflect that fantasy.
And science can't really prove fantasys. I'll give you an example: a person belives in hmm let's say flying horses. Now how can science prove that? They can't. You can't prove something that is the fruit of peoples imagination.

Nowadays they take things too literally, like "I want to analyze your Gods blood or he didn't happen!"...

I hope this does not offend anyone.

God does exist. Even if you don't see him, he's there.

For example: love. Love is all in our bodies right? It's an emotion. Now, when you tear the body apart, can you find love? Is there an organ called love? Is there a little cell called the love cell? You can't physically see love, but it's still there.

So God: even if you can't see him, he's there.

You should read the bible - it's one of the best books ever. I'm reading it right now.

The thing is we all want to believe someone greater than us and our race is there to take care of us.And god is that someone. Does god exist physically??? NO. Spiritually; Always.

they're two things you should never talk about, that is religion and politics.
they are both stupid and useless topics, we know the government is shit and for a god that doesn't exist

Arguments for and against the existence of God have been proposed by philosophers, theologians, scientists, and others. In philosophical terminology, arguments for and against the existence of God involve primarily the sub-disciplines of epistemology (theory of knowledge) and ontology (nature of being), but also of the theory of value, since concepts of perfection are often bound up with notions of God.

oh another subject that i always see on the forum sites.. haha.. anyway yeah God is alive! we're not here on earth if God is not exist! He is invisible only Jesus Christ can see God.. He used Jesus Christ to connect to people (us).. He created Jesus Christ to let us know that God is alive..

Yes, I believe that God exist 100% as well. It is a matter of faith. What is faith? Faith is the substance of the things hope for and the evidence of the things not seen. Oh yeah, but there are still Thomas nowadays who don't believe in God. :)
how sure are you?did u saw god before?

hey guys..i think this kind of argument will be all answerd soon if where all gonna die..

Everybody who says god exists, is incredibly stupid. I'll first start off with "prayers".

To everybody here who is religious, who has prayed before. This one is for you. So, let me give you a little scenario... You're in your bedroom, it's 11PM and night, and you really wanna' get laid. (Honestly you shouldn't be praying for that if you are of Christain faith).

So you pray to god, "Dear god, almighty, all-powerful, all-loving creator of the universe, I pray to you to get me laid this Friday night, I really do not want to be embarrased in front of all of my friends. Please, make me wake up with a massive sclong (preferably about 12 inches), thanks, John."

I can bet any amount of money, and win. Win the bet, that you will most probably not get laid on Friday night, (simply because you're faithful to god (notice the non capitalisation)). and because you're a loser. Second of all, you won't wake up with a massive sclong, simply because you are Asian.

My second argument is "mircales". Notice what happens when anyone is "miraculously cured". A person is sick, the person prays (or a prayer circle prays for the person) and the person is cured. A religious person looks at it and says, "God performed a miracle because of prayer!" That is the end of it.

A scientist looks at it in a very different way. A scientist looks at it and says, "Prayer had nothing to do with it - there is a natural cause for what we see here. If we understand the natural cause, then we can heal many more people suffering from the same condition."

In other words, it is only by assuming that God is imaginary that science can proceed. If God was real, why would we need science. God could do it all for us!

Third argument, is how useless the world is. Look around you, (yes, you, the stupid Ethopian who has a cheap laptop with Dial-up internet). Look at Africa, look at the poverty. As far as I know, God wanted a good life for everybody. Unless this is Adam & Eves fault, (in which case blame those two stupid fuckwits) for eating the apple off the tree. If God was real, I'm sure there would be a balance between life, I'm sure black people would have money, I'm sure everybody would enjoy a nice curry (not just the Indians), and I'm sure that people in Africa would have clean water to drink (not water that looks like the shit you just took), as well as them having food, and not getting raped by lions on a daily basis. (Just like your Dad is going to do you to tonight, (Yes, he's a lion.))

TL;DR. God is not real, everybody who beleives in him is stupid & foolish. (Religion is honestly the biggest hoax ever pulled). If you pray @ night, you're not going to wake up with a massive schlong and hair on your balls And also, science is the way to go. If god is real, why are people dying of starvation in Africa, why does your Mum have a beard, and why are you still a virgin after 40 years of trying & failing.

hey Lold!did u say that all of the things we seen in this world are all created by scientifec blah blah blah?

god is not real...wake up people gezze.
Also what kind of god would create a loophole....where he knows when he created us that we will do stupid things just to send us to hell and suffer for eternity....and if he does exist he is a sick minded f*ck.Also what about the slavery in the bible? i like how people forget about that...where god alows you to beat your daughter as much as you want as long as you dont kill her and stuff like that.
But since i dont believe in god im going outside and have an awesome day now.

Those who doesn't not believe God will lose their soul. Someday, when you are dying, in your deathbed, you will utter the word God. You will call Him, because you will see Him , and face judgement.

its is ignorant to say the stupid things that were said in this thread, how does one debate on something that cannot be proved in both manners

here is something that wasnt written but is held up high by me

__________________-

Professor: You are a monotheist, aren’t you, son?

Student: Yes, sir.

Professor: So, you believe in God?

Student: Absolutely, sir.

Professor: Is God good?

Student: Sure.

Professor: My brother died of cancer, even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn’t. How is God good, then? Hmm?

(Student was silent)

Professor: You can’t answer, can you? Let’s start again, young fella. Is God good?

Student: Yes.

Professor: Is Satan good?

Student: No.

Professor: Where does Satan come from?

Student: From.. God.

Professor: That’s right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?

Student: Yes.

Professor: Evil is everywhere, isn’t it? And God did make everything. Correct?

Student: Yes.

Professor: So who created evil?

(Student didn’t answer)

Professor: Is there sickness? Immortality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don’t they?

Student: Yes, sir.

Professor: So, who created them?

(Student had no answer)

Professor: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son.. have you ever seen God?

Student: No, sir.

Professor: Tell us if you have ever heard your God.

Student: No, sir.

Professor: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God? Have you ever had any sensory perception of God, for that matter?

Student: No, sir. I’m afraid I haven’t.

Professor: Yet you still believe in Him?

Student: Yes.

Professor: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, Science says your God doesn’t exist. What do you say to that, son?

Student: Nothing. I only have my Faith.

Professor: Yes, Faith. And that is the problem Science has.

Student: Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?

Professor: Yes.

Student: And is there such a thing as Cold?

Professor: Yes.

Student: No, sir, there isn’t.

(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events)

Student: Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero which is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of Heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.

(There was a pon-drop silence in the Lecture Theatre)

Student: What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

Professor: Yes. What is night if there isn’t darkness?

Student: You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light… But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and it’s called Darkness, isn’t it? In reality, darkness isn’t. If it is, You would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn’t you?

Professor: So what is the point you are making, young man?

Student: Sir, my point is, your Philosophical Premise is flawed.

Professor: Flawed? Can you explain how?

Student: Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can’t even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life, just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?

Professor: If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes of course, I do.

Student: Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument was going)

Student: Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher?

(The class was in uproar)

Student: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor’s brain?

(The class broke out into laughter)

Student: Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? .. No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established Rules of Empirical, Stable and Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures?

(The room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face unfathomable)

Professor: I guess you’ll have to take them on Faith, son.

Student: That is it, sir.. exactly! The link between man and God is Faith. That is all that keeps things alive and moving!
