There are negative effects of a single parent family.
*Financial concerns cause stress for children.
*The child misses real roots and develops separation anxiety.
*Disagreement on custody arrangements.
what more are the effects of a single parenthood? are you in this kind of family?

Well for me being a single parent to my children its not a big deal...what you can do if your relationship not last?...for me it how you will raise your children...i will look the positive side...you and your children can have strong bond...just be positive in everyday living.

Well I am not sure how the feeling is like but I know I am sure blessed.I agree with arnelia that we should always look on the positive side despite the fact that something bad has gone wrong in your life.

My parents separated when I was 7, after some fights. In the first year I used to spend a weekend with my father twice a month, then he gave up to meet me because he had too work and he wasn't able to stay alone with his new mate if he had to look after me.

My mom has been very good to grow me but I still have some lacks. Just after their separation my mother got depressed and home became messy. Luckily she discovered the problem and then she solved it. I got some depression and anxiety disorders too (and I keep on having some).

My parents got back together 7 years later, so I was 14. I didn't agree with them so much, my father tried to have a better relationship with me, but maybe it was too late.

oh, that's so sad darksoul... you could always try giving your father a room in your heart. it's nice to have a happy family. If your father is reaching out, and is truly sorry for the wrong things he has done, and really trying to make it up to you,..why not give him a chance? :)

I dont have children yet, but I would like my children to never missing a father figure, because I think father and mother are part of the child's identity. But it is not healthy for children to see their parents fight all the time and sometimes it is better to face a divorce.

It's late and it's difficult to forgive him, but I think he's already understood that I've forgiven him (even if I'm not totally sure).

Yes single parents have some finacial problems. Based on when there is only on parent working. And kids need both parent with them. But sometimes the relationships are great. Like with my ex husband. I stayed as long as I could for my son. But we are alone now, and doing well together.
