Just want to let you guys know, that this Elgato Game Capture is fucking awesome. Decided to give it a little test. Did a short 2 minute recording showing off Highrise in MW2. This was recorded in 720p, rendered in Sony Vegas, and has some small edits to contrast, brightness, saturation, sharpness, etc. Let me know what you guys think, and I'll be available tomorrow to help record anything you need. Philly has a few clips for me to record, anyone else?

Please note that viewing the video at such a small size with HD quality makes most of the text and other small details look like shit. View it on Youtube in 720p for the full experience.

Hey Chronos, can you contact me on aim(rise) because I am really considering buying this.

I just want to make sure I'll be able to set it up and record with ease and put my clips on youtube with no problem.

I've never done this before. :)

Dat ignorance. It all comes down to opinion honestly, but comparing hardware and software of each of the capture cards, the Elgato wins by a mile.

Contacting you now. I'll also be messing with some 1080p settings for the Elgato, I'll post back with a video showing it off.

Yo make sure that your TV is also 1080p cause it won't record in 1080p if your TV isn't.

My TV does 1080i, the Elgato records in both 1080i and 1080p. It will be rendered in 1080p in Sony Vegas however.

Looks like my PVR in my opinion. But this is cheaper and smaller, so congratulations Chronos :)

Is it true your TV has to be 1080p for it to work? If so, how would I check if my tv is 1080p?

and I only have 3GB RAM on my laptop... so I wouldn't be able to use this?

You should be fine, those are only recommended requirements. You shouldn't have any real problems besides maybe your computer being a bit slower but all your recordings will come out perfectly fine. In other news, fell asleep really early yesterday (around 5 PM), had the scariest fucking dream ever, and now I'm awake at 5 in the morning. Anyone on?

You sure about this? Because I seen on a setup video the game said your tv must be 1080p.. not sure if my tv is, but it is pretty HQ

I just don't want to waste money and my TV nor Laptop is good enough.

You'll know you have an HDTV if you go to your Xbox 360's display settings, and you can change it to 720p, 1080p, 1080i, etc. It if sticks and asks you if you'd like to change, you can do it. If it reverts, you can't do it. For example, my TV can record up to 1080i, instead of 1080p. The only real requirement is that you can use an HDMI Cable, or Component Cables (the white and red for audio, blue red green for picture). If your TV can either accept HDMI or Component (most likely both) your TV can do HD. Your laptop should be perfectly fine. It may run a bit sower than normal but it's not too under the required settings. If you're scared, you could always get a RAM stick or try and overclock.

Ight, I'll buy it. If it turns out I can't do shit with it because of TV or Laptop, I'm throwing it out the window...

Well your TV will be a definite deciding factor, I suggest you check that first before you buy it.

I see 1080p when I go to Display settings but it says "HDTV output is disables" so I just need that HDMI cable to be able to use 1080p eh? It doesn't come with Elgato?

So far everything is looking good... might get it ;)

It means you don't have 1080p, you can do any HD signal through component or HDMI, only difference is less wires with the HDMI and only slightly better quality. Your TV may do 720p or 1080i, like mine does, so check those.
