A citizen should always prioritize his/her native language but it will also be nice to know the English language. Just like now, we can post here because we know how to speak (or "write") our mind using the English language.

I am more fluent in English than in my mother language mainly because the language of teaching taught in our school was english. Although I do understand my mother language I dont get to speak it everyday. I watch english movies or read books more in english than in my mother language. So yeah, I guess it's English for me.

Though English language is most prefered language all over the world , we can never forget the importance of our own mother tongue. English language is important , but , firstly , we should give preference to our language because it is our identity.

In my country, we speak both languages since English is a subject in our school. I love my native language more of course but we have to admit English is the universal language.

I prefer to use our native language when I speak to our natives of our country. If I go to international forums or If I talk to a foreigner, I speak English at most times.

I don't have any problem either I will use my mother tongue or the English language. I can speak 4 different Philippine languages and it is a plus in communicating with people in my country. I always wanted to enhance my speaking ability in English because it is important as well. There are words that are easy to understand in English than my own National Language. If somebody will ask me to speak in front, I can talk more when I will use English than my language.

i speak Arabic, Bulgarian, English know a little french and russian

now see for me i think the more languages you know it will benefit you in the long run because you can communicate with more people and have your opinions voiced to other cultures who might not understand you if you didnt speak their language

I love my mother language but I think we need to learn english too since it is the most widely spoken language all over the world. Communicating with other people is easier if we speak common language. For us Filipinos, we don't have much problem with that.

Native language should be well appreciated but in a country like India which recognizes 15 other languages, along with Hindi as national language, I am often in a fix what language to use in mixed company. Hence, English is becoming the norm now.
