I watched it a while back and I was gutted as well.. The manga seems like it's nearing an end as well. Maybe a remake of some sort hopefully =P

First anime I probably watched was around that DBZ/Gundam Wing/Trigun/Cowboy Bebop period. I swear there was some random Gundam anime I had recording on VHS though..
