I don't support gay marriage or lesbian marriage. Especially if they plan on having a child. A child needs a Woman and a man role model. Not 2 males or 2 women. We see this to so much as it is. With single mothers and fathers. Their kids start acting out and going down a bad path and most of the time will commit a crime and go to jail/prison. Now this does not happen for every child I know that. But if a child does not have a role model of each sex. Then the wont be able to ask them questions about things. There are questions only men can answer and there are question only woman can answer. And for this reason. I don't think gay marriage or lesbian marriage (Yes I know we are not talking about lesbians) should be allowed. That is my opinion. Also being gay is not natural. God made a man and a women to be the first people on earth. Not a man and a man, Or a woman and a woman. Everyone is born straight but they chose which road they want to go. How I know this is because when you are 5 years old, You don't think about being gay. You start thinking about being gay when you grow up. You are not born gay and for anyone to say that is ignorant.

This is not an argument against gay marriage, but an argument against gays. Furthermore, if sexual orientation is a "choice" as fundamentalists claim, then it follows that heterosexuality is a choice too. Why should one "choice" be favored over another?

Incidentally, a person's religion is certainly a choice, yet we firmly protect that as a person's right.

There is that evidence indicates that sexual orientation is not chosen, studies show numerous biological correlations with sexual orientation, and the APA denounces so-called "therapy" to turn gay people straight, that "ex-gays" keep turning up in gay bars, etc.

My views on gay marriage are that if it has nothing to do with me, its fine.
Regarding the whole "one mom" thing, i've lived my whole life with just my mom and only started talking to my dad like 2 or 3 years ago, and i only see him like once or twice a month. I grew up with only one parent and i'm perfectly fine, thinking that having one mom or one dad effects a child mentally is just close-minded and ignorant in my opinion.

It's not my opinion. It's basic logic, reason, and science. He said it was opinion at first, but then he applied logic. I felt obligated, as a person of reason, to point out the flaws in his logic.

Homosexuality is actually quite abundant in nature, so it's definitely a natural way of life. Homosexuals, like all humans, deserve real love, not just lip service about love. Our society shouldn't be constrained by narrow interpretations of love. These interpretations only come from one place, religion. There is nothing immoral about homosexuality in the slightest.

I think the best way to combat gay marriage is to force everyone to get a civil partnership. That way there is no perception that marriage is a higher form of love. Instead, people can choose what to call their civil partnership, and religious people can get their marriage blessed by their religion etc.

If we start forcing churches to allow gay marriage, isn't that a form of discrimination against the church? The state and the church should be separated at all costs.

No, it doesn't mean that. However, people claim that homosexuality isn't natural, which in fact it is. I'm merely pointing out the fact that it is very abundant in nature.

Marriage isn't a religion-only type of thing. It is demeaning to only give marriage to certain groups of people, but give a fake version to others.

No one is forcing into anything. The church shouldn't have any input on the government. Plus, religion is literally the only source that calls homosexuality immoral.This same argument that you are using could be used to support prostitution, slavery, etc. For example, isn't it a form of discrimination against slave owners to abolish slavery?

Allowing gay marriage isn't forcing anyone to be gay. It's forcing hateful religious groups to be tolerant of their fellow human beings. Is that really too much to ask?
