Leader said:Humans are humans, no matter what. Minute differences in their genetic make up does not make one group superior to the other, it only makes them different. What you said in this thread is considered racist. You are saying that a certain group of people is genetically inferior to others. This type of belief is what led to horrible events such as the Holocaust.
xSlatzy said:You are interrupting that I am racist but in no way am I. I just believe that at one point and time a race or person had inferior genes due to them not being able to survive a certain sickness. There are many scientists who would agree with this statement as well as people and in no way is it racist. You are just interrupting me to be a racist, when in fact I am not.
xSlatzy said:Personally I do believe (Not today at least but in the olden days) That certain races or people were genetically inferior. For example when the whites came over to America and killed the Indians with many diseases and what not that would make the Indians "Genetically Inferior". Please tell me what you think and if you believe that certain things or people are genetically inferior. I am interested to know. And NO I am not a racist.

However, it was because the natives never produced an intolerance to the contagions and illnesses of the old world, since they never came in contact with those particular contagions; it has nothing to do with inferior genetics, purely immunization.
What you are putting forth is most definitely racist, to say otherwise is erroneous. It's the equivalent of denying murder, despite being caught red-handed. Social Darwinism is a concept created by ignorant, racist, wealthy, privileged, European white men.
Doug said:I believe the native americans were mentally capable of all the achievements of the 'genetically superior' humans of the time. I just believe the white men had more resources and opportunities in the land they were raised in. The feeling of genetic superiority turned out to be a flaw and ultimately led to cockiness and the end of many great empires. (Japan, China, England, and numerous modern day African nations).
xSlatzy said:So you do believe in Social Darwinism then?

Doug said:Absolutely I believe in Darwinism of all forms, I am a firm supporter of it. You do what you must to survive. At the same time I believe that actually having the feeling of superiority can be a weakness.

Leader said:Your ideals here are racist, and there is no changing that.
I believe it our duty as humans to look out for other humans. We have developed the ability to feel compassion and love because it has benefitted our species in the past, and it will continue to benefit us. Once you begin to put yourself before others, you lose your human-ness. We have to practice equality and freedom, because we are all the same.
Doug said:You are overlooking the other traits of humans such as Violence, hatred, greed, and the desire to be better. These traits also have benefited us in the past as without them we would still be in the stone age.
Leader said:Yes, but love and compassion for others is one of the most important. Without compassion for other beings, there is nothing that differentiates our behavior from that of animals.
Doug said:Animals also show love compassion for one another. Says something about humans doesn't it? we are animals by nature imo, we show all the same traits that animals do but we feel genetically superior to them, and as I have said that kind of ignorance is a large flaw with human nature.
Leader said:That doesn't make Social Darwinism any less horrible, oppressive, or evil. We are humans, and are more intelligent and comprehensive than most animals. If we behave like animals, and act upon the idea of Social Darwinism, we lose what separates us as humans.
Doug said:You can think it's evil all you'd like, my point was that the mere fact social darwinism exist proves that we are not separated as humans and should not feel superior in our current state.
