I know I am not a licensed therapist or anything along the lines, nor is anyone here (if you are, I stand corrected), but I feel this subsection would be nice.
It could be a subsection in the Lobby, and could be a place where anyone can come for help. It could be personal life help, homework, mental help, situational help, or anything really that someone needs help/advice with.
I've been through a lot in my life already and feel I can share some support/information with people here. I've been through drug addictions, I haven't lived at home since I was 16 so I could talk to people about family problems, I've had school problems, law problems, I've had the same girlfriend since I was 16 so I can talk to people with relationship problems and a lot more. I also know there are other members here with their own life problems/events that could help other members in need.
I don't know, I just feel it would be nice for member to have a place to go where they can seek help from their forum. Some of you may say the lobby is suited for this, but the lobby is so scattered right now and I think this would help motivate others to seek help with something they may be having trouble with.
I'd like to thank you for listening and if this is denied, I will understand fully. I just thought I'd put the idea out there =)

Solidify said:I support this implementation but with a couple of twists.
The idea of having a separate sub-forum is a great idea but there are things that we need to consider before doing so. Already that none of us in that section will be licensed to help others with their personal affairs, I can only imagine how degraded the advice is going to be if anyone will be able to provide it. That is why, before we head into making a section, I propose that, through the use of a rigorous standards and systematic evaluation, we hand-pick a select number of members to form a support group. If that group gets big enough (and believe me, I know some of you are thinking that it will but the standards for admittance will be rather peculiar for the sake of providing safe advice) we'll then make this sub-forum, with management's approval.
If all goes as planned, we'd have this new forum run solely by those particular members that were judged adequately to provide safe advice. All members will be able to publish their own topics but only those few members would therein be allowed to reply to them and therefore provide insight on the affairs of others. The reason I think hand-picking support members rather than allowing everyone to provide their own piece of mind is of such great importance is for the simple fact that bad advice can go a long way. I'm currently a member of a support group on a neighborhood forum and can personally vouch that not giving any advice whatsoever is much better than giving bad advice.
This is just a brainstorm that I came up with while writing but of course they'll be more thought that will go into it if management approves of the concept. Lastly, I'd be working with Steezy himself, if he agrees, to handpick and evaluate each applicant.
I for one think the forum is a great idea but it's a delicate matter which is why I'd rather we think it through properly first. Any thoughts, comments, concerns or things you'd like to suggest be added?
