You must have never kept using the same iPhone for over a year.

After about a years time they start to run hot and glitch out on most applications.

You can jailbreak it and run basically anything on your iphone.
It fits in your pocket and doesn't look like a tablet.
Looks way cleaner.

You still can't do as much with a jailbroken iPhone as you can with a non-rooted android device. I have a custom launcher, widgets, font, icon pack, and more. All without root. You shouldn't have to jailbreak to do what you want, and my G2 fits more than fine in my pocket and in my hand. I said android, not a large android phone, the HTC One M8 is about equal in size.

I've got an iPhone 4S simply because of the lightweight OS and the fact that its widely supported by a fair number of accessories. I'm considering making the switch to an android device again (I used to have a galaxy s, switched to iPhone)

Actually, you can't, not only because of the fact that it isn't possible, the hardware is too shitty to manage Android.

The "fact" iphone was even successful is because they created the era of smartphones, not google's andriod. At the beginning android market was mostly filled with junky phones that couldn't handle the operating system giving it the bad reputation of a quality phone and operating system.

But as you can see now companies aren't holding back. More money is being invested with the hardware via many companies to produce top notch phones. For so many companies relying on android as its operating system its easy to say android will grow with newer features as a much accelerated rate than iphone , easily accessed by the public with lower prices, and with so many companies against one company (apple) its safe to say the if the world fell into another economy disaster i'm positive google's operating system would be the only survivor.

But since we live in a day of age people rather spend their money on the high amount item for either bragging rights, or simply a brand name whore, apple is here to stay to claim the spot of king of brand whoring.

People don't even buy iphones for gaming, they don't even buy it now for music when you can get all your music free either by downloads or music streaming apps...no...they buy it for the fucking branding.

Unless it's directly to Phablets, most phones aren't near that size, at all, not even near an iPad mini. My G2 is considered large and it fits fine in my hand and pocket.

I have a pretty big phone (Galaxy s5) and it fits in my pockets no problem.
