How Moderators Are Managed...

In my honest opinion that are MANY flaws in the current system here on FK when it comes to picking the next staff members...

A paid group such as Envious should not have the ability to determine the next staff/mod members for multiple reasons. One reason is that it is run by one person, which will therefore cause it to be completely biased and if the person running it does not like another person then that person may be excluded from the group even if they are very deserving. Another reason is that it was a payed for group like every other group so why should that group get certain advantages like choosing the next staff members when another doesn't? There are, however, multiple solutions to these problems that can easily the flawed system currently in use like selecting a Mod "leader", which could possibly be the most experienced and loyal mod, or a certain staff member. This leader would be in charge of selecting the new mod/staff members, but it wouldn't be solely up to that person, of course, because that would make the system just as flawed as it currently is. Instead of this one person deciding who gets in, they would set it to a vote involving all of the other staff members. For example, Admin votes count as 3, Staff votes count as 2, and Mod votes count as 1. This would be much more efficient and people wouldn't get in just because they were close with one person like the current system is. This Leader wouldn't necessarily be choosing the next staff, just selecting the candidates that are to be voted on.

I have also considered the person who would be the most deserving and best Mod "Leader" and I think it would be Jimmy. Jimmy seems to do a lot for the site and unless this job would take much of his time to where he could no longer perform his necessary duties, I think he is the best candidate by far.

I also think that there should be one mod per major section, instead of one per individual area, possibly with the exception of the General since it is the most active section here on ForumKorner.

I agree, other than the fact that Christy is Admin and Envious is not a paid group. Christy should have the ability so "Train" members in Envious to be Moderator or Staff. Since only admin can choose that what she has made the group for.

It is a paid group, she bought it just like everyone else bought there group. If I had money I would go buy a group and "Train" the next Admins lol... It's so flawed in so many ways. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, cause it's not, it's a great idea, but there are just so many problems with it.

I completely agree with this; a flawed system is eventually going to be the downfall of many positive factors of FK.

Envious is a paid group. All Group, except Writers are.

I feel that the current staff selection is absolute ignorance. I have been admin, owner, and mod on several other sites, and at there finest hour were all larger and more active then this (they have been closed up cause the shit they were based on is no longer available or sought after) but still. And instead of taking some one in that has had experience and needs little to no training they decide to take some dick riders that are willing to pay to join a group for "Future Staff" (Or as I like to say Future Fuck Ups) lol

I agree with this to . When I joined in July this site was ran very well and I have noticed it slowly turnining bad.

Philly if you are reading this the members are not trying to bag on Fk ! We just love Fk too much to watch it turn to shit. We are fighting for the forum that we originally joined and grew to love. :'(

Yeah exactly, and it's also very biased. They also don't need to pick people just because they have lot's of rep/posts or are extremely loved by the community because these are the people that are often afraid to take action or do something because they don't want to be unliked or get negative rep. Idk just another one of the current flaws imo.

Lol I have alot of the staff and mods hatin on me cause i tell it how it is and dont suck there cocks to stay on there good side,
If they fuck up I let it be known and call them out on the shit so the whole site can see

Then you will lose their vote, but if you are truly deserving then I'm sure you'd make it because of all the other people voting. That is the main problem with the current system because there is only one person running it so if they hate you then you are completely screwed no matter what, even if you extremely deserving.

Couldn't have said it better myself. The whole idea of 1 biased opinion that is choosing staff is just a bad idea. It should be consulting the entire team. There's no "I" in "Team".

I would add on and make paragraphs about the subject, but I'm tired.

But what good does this do us when damn near all the fucking mods and shit are put in place by Christy, She can persuade them to vote her way or she will have them removed form there positions...

This can be in favor of current mods too because the mod "leader would be an honorable position which they too could earn. And most of the current mods are reasonable people that I'm sure can obviously see how this would be much more beneficial for the site, and in no way would hurt them.

Josh, yes Christy did select the last Moderators team. I won't be siding anyone but all I can say is that Philly's last decision of selecting Staff was when I and Superman were promoted.

I know and in all honesty, despite the fact we had an issue, you guys do a great job. You know what staff embers /mods I do not like and honestly I think that Philly and Paul should sit down and make an unanimous decision about staff, as in if they both agree on it they should be staff, that way a certain some one does not have 100% say so in it cause some of that persons decision making is ignorant and biased as fuck!

Envious is one of the many reasons forumkorner has been diminished and destroyed.

i dont understand how a moderator can have a 5 digit UID. This isnt about bitching about your elders this about people understanding and knowing the rules by being on FK for a long time. Christy does a very poor job in 'training' moderators. Every single one of them create their own rules and dont actually follow the exact rules on FK. and I have PMs from Philly agreeing with me(I wont release them out of respect for Philly).

Why arent people that have been on FK the longest and have proven to have a vested interest in the community the first in line to be mods/staff.

Zeus has been here forever and HQ member that knows all the rules and understands how FK flows. he should be a staff member.

In fact I am willing to gamble if we were to take a vote now on the current staff and then replace them all with members in Veterans. and took another vote in a months time the community would like veterans TWICE AS MUCH!

Philly i bet you 1000$ straight up right now. If you wanna make 1000$ do the deal. If you lose you dont need 2 pay me 1000$ just to leave the veterans as staff and remove christy from admin.

Thor, having a 5 digit UID doesn't stop you. I have been here for 6 months and I can say, I have proper understanding of rules. You can't argue with that.

I've been here just as long as Jimmy as a mod, and I have to say I'm not doing that bad.

McLovin, you have always done a great job as a Moderator for Computing Sections and kept them alive.
