What are your guys' thoughts on the Illuminati.

In modern times it is also used to refer to a purported conspiratorial organization which acts as a shadowy "power behind the throne", allegedly controlling world affairs through present day governments and corporations, usually as a modern incarnation or continuation of the Bavarian Illuminati. In this context, the Illuminati are believed to be the masterminds behind events that will lead to the establishment of a New World Order.
I don't believe in the Illuminati, since I think it's just the most popular group to be targeted as a "conspiracy group"
They have long since gone, which makes them unable to argue back, so people take advantage of this and make up random stuff about it.
And to be honest, very few people knew about the Illuminati until Dan Brown published his book. Now it's all around with conspiracy theories, and plans to rule over the world.

I agree with you a lot. Especially that people took advantage, this is 100% true. All these movie stars and famous that claim to be part of it aren't part of anything.
Think how easy it would be to come and take over the united states government right when it was forming. You did it without anyone knowing, with very smart people. It would be pretty simple in my opinion.

The Illuminati was a group for well respected scientists who wanted to prove that the Church's teachings were wrong. Pop stars don't really fit well into the category of well respected scientists.

The Illuminati is a ghost, a dead end. People search and search and search for the enemy and end up with illuminati. They point the finger at them so that they don't have to point their fingers directly at a person or a real group of people. The powerholders benefit from this as it is a great delay for the people to find out who really is behind the bad things in the world.
The masses are pleased as they believe they know who is behind everything and cannot do anything about it because they are unknown (nonexistent).
If you want to know who controls the world it is the big media, the people behind the federal reserve, the big bankers. I can give a short list of the people with a lot of power in America if anyone is interested.

The Illuminati are still around, and still in major control of the world's economy. It's a secret society called the Dark kabal. They have a lot of influence over government's because they control the money. They start wars, etc.
If there is anything you need to worry about it is the cartels and monopolies, the private banks and corporations. Not this nonexistent group which is suggesting all the major powerholders are working for the same agenda as oppose to self profit. Focus on the real problems in the world, don't give them a common name, blame it and sit back on your sofa thinking it's enough work for today or "it is impossible, they are too strong". People are stronger than any government or power-elite, people don't need the government for protection and security.
Back on topic, if Illuminati was still existent it would mean a top secret group which everyone knows and has heard about yet there is no proof of its existence. However only highly intelligent people such as scientists would be part of it as it has always been and it would be working to destroy the government and religion. Illuminati was working for a good agenda when it existed. It was working to reduce the churches power to none, abolish the right for private property, destroy religion and the current government, seize patriotism and nationalism, (and uniting humanity). Much like the books 'Brave new world' or '1984' I would imagine as they were also to abolish families. May I ask you conspiracy-theory enthusiasts to explain what proof or signs of proof is there to strengthen your argument for it besides [see above posts].
