The illuminatti are simply a branch of a much larger organization called Fillstein society. They started operating in ancient Spain, and eventually moved towards Germany. I don't remember the original name of the group, but it renamed the Fillstein society right before the crusades at around 1000 A.D.
They controlled all the illuminatti actions, and are sometimes referred to as, "The people who hired the puppetmaster".

I don't think that Illuminati is real. It is speculated to influence much of the music industry, tho. However, I think that musicians only use Illuminati messages in songs or music videos to make them "controversial" to the unsuspecting masses and gain more profit out of it.
