I want to know if any of you guys have had experience with them and successfully got rid of them with out surgery?

I usually get them for ages during footy season and then they go away, but I've had one for about 8 months now in my big toe on my left foot, I play tennis, soccer and football and it hurts heaps especially during tennis, I've realised now that it's not going away by itself.

I went to the doctors and they gave me anti biotics and that works for 2 weeks and then it comes back, the reason I can't get surgery is because I will miss weeks of work + I hate hospitals.

Dig it out yourself.
Tweezers + Needle + Time + Patience = Done.

2ez.

Don't bother with surgery, it's unnecessary and a waste of money o_O

I had one for 3 months over Footy season. I forgot what it was, but we just put some cream around the part it dug into, which hardened the skin up and it just peeled off. From there I just trimmed the toe nail. ;p Good luck with yours

Man just put a needle under it bend it up and cut it off with a stanley knife.

I think he meant dig it out yourself, that's why I suggested the bottle of rum, sterilization, painkilling, and it will give you the balls to do it. It doesn't have to be rum, it can be your choice of hard alcohol just make sure its 80 proof or higher.

Infected toenails don't work like that, trust me, I tried. Unless you have the pain tolerance of Iron Man, don't touch your toe.

I did it doesn't hurt that much by the time your done it will feel a lot better.

Do you trust a drunk you with a knife and a needle?

Sure when I'm drunk.

Its pretty deep so I don't think I can cut it out? lol

I've had them before. I cut down the side of it first with nail cutters. Then use tweezers and blunt knife to dig out it and cut the rest off. I usually do it when it first starts though. Not 8 months after it started. And yer, I have a high pain threshold.

For me, tapping it sent jolts of excruciating pain. I lost so much blood when the doctor cut it, thank God for quick clotting.

Same for me, Im on my feet all day at work walking on roofs, ladders, fucking drills.

also, how much was surgery and how long was it until you could do anything?
