I think there is nothing wrong with being sexually attracted to children or even babies, people don't seem to understand this perspective logically, because once they think of anything associated to pedophilia they think it's wrong.

Being sexually attracted to children is completely harmless, and until they[the pedophiles] act on their temptations, it can't be justified for being wrong.

I believe my ideas on this topic are apologetic and controversial, but I'm curious as to what others think of the topic. Talk below.

EDIT:

Before you start making accusations of me being a child rape enabler or potential pedophile, read a couple pages of the thread please, so you'll have a better understanding of what I'm really arguing for.

From my perspective it depends on the age difference, say the man is 19 and the girl is 8, it just seems disturbing and as if the man has some sort of mental issue considering there are others around him that are his age but he is SEXUALLY attracted to the young girl. Then again there are married couples that differ by years, even decades. I believe it's disturbing depending how old or developed the child's body is.

Yes, it would be disgusting if they engaged in intercourse, but that's not the premise of what I'm arguing, to make it clear for everyone, as everyone in the past I've debated with on this topic constantly continue to make that misconception and view me as child rape-enabler. What's the harm or negatives in being sexually attracted to children?

Its not that weird if your sexually attracted to like 16 year olds but below 13 is just weird and completely disgusting.

Okay, but can you elaborate furthermore please. You're not giving a valid reason why being sexually attracted to children under that age is wrong.

Its weird because they are young and not attractive at all. Also, younger girls aren't developed at all and haven't hit puberty. I don't see how anyone could be sexually attracted to children.

Just because younger children are not attractive to you does not validate your argument that sexual attraction to children is wrong, and it's quite obvious that some pedophiles find young children attractive. You shouldn't generalize that it's only young girls and not boys being raped, because that is most definitely not true. Their underdevelopment also doesn't validate that it wrong, since it's still harmless to be attracted to children.

I personally think pedophila is wrong. For 1. They haven't hit puberty yet so they have no interest in love. 2. They are too young to know what they want. It's just overall disgusting to me how you come to believe there is nothing wrong with it.

I also don't think anything is wrong with being sexual attracted to children, it's just when the pedophiles take action that is wrong.

My personal opinion of it is that it's disgusting, depending on the ages at least. If they're around the age of 16+ I think it's most likely normal, but still wrong depending on the age difference.

From what you're asking though, there's really nothing that is truly wrong with it that I know of, as in facts, which I may be wrong. But from what I know, it is just morally wrong to most people due to what they've been taught and just generally how societies work and teach.

Let's not go too off-topic, I would prefer to keep on-topic rather. But I think what you're saying isn't necessarily true, but I'm no expert. I don't view pedophilia entirely as a psychological disorder. However, I still view sexual acts of pedophilia as unacceptable behavior due to the children's underdevelopment and prepubescence.

What are your thoughts on the main topic?

I'm pretty sure you've heard of the 4 month baby that was raped and killed by a sick bastard. Lets say he was JUST attracted to the baby, how would you view him or his intentions? Sorry if it's off topic, just curious.

It is harmless to be attracted to them but it is just weird if you are sexually attracted to kids under 10. Its a opinion but I just think it is weird to be attracted to a young kid and even more weird to be attracted to a young boy. Its like being attracted to old people, some people are but to me it is just disgusting.

I fail to see how the sexual attraction is morally wrong, but I understand your basis. Most societies have a zero tolerance when comes to everything associated to pedophiles. We're not allowed to openly converse and debate about controversial subjects such as this, we're raised what to think and believe, that's potentially why there's been such a high intolerance of some controversial ideas in the past and now too such as atheism somewhat, homosexuality, and pedophilia.

Well, this guy's obviously a sick psycho if he was intending to murder the baby. If he was just attracted to the baby, then he's harmless from that perspective, but if that baby was my child and if I were aware of his sexual attraction towards children and intentions of harming my child, I wouldn't dare to approach him.

Yes, it's an opinion, but you must realize your opinion is not substantiated while the opposing opinion is, therefore invalidates yours and makes yours incorrect until substantiated with enough proof. A personal opinion holds no ground in validity.

Yes, and it's not all together morally wrong to everyone, that's why I included most. Being that your morals are just made up of what you perceive as wrong and right, etc., they vary depending on what you think. Spot on with the rest.

You answered it fine, I however believe it's harmless depending on the character, a small attraction could turn into a fatal intention. I believe child molesters start off with just a harmless attraction and their ambitions grow from there. Never thought about this till now; interesting you should have a big blog haha

Yes, and that's exactly why I pointed out that there's nothing wrong with it until they act on their temptations. I'll just continue to post often in the Philosophy and Debates section instead :3.

I think it's wrong either way honestly because if you're attracted to a "child" you don't just think they're pretty or cute, it'd be sexual thoughts if you were of age or way older than the target.
