I've smoked and drank, but if I was a parent or something, I would prefer my kid to come home high once in a while knowing that he didn't try to drink and drive, doesn't have fucked up lungs, isn't going to be poisoned, is not throwing up then him to come home drunk with the possibility he could have drunk and drove, is poisoned, and is throwing up everywhere.

If you stop drinking alcohol you will have much harsher withdrawals than if you stopped smoking cannabis.

Marijuana in my opinion easily wins in being the safest, sure you can die from abusing it but I read somewhere you'd have to smoke a incredible amount in a very short time span. Something along the lines of like 2 times your body weight in 30 mins or something. As some people mentioned, no one has been reported of dying from marijuana OD. Of course a few people died while they were high for just being stupid and freaking out. Marijuana does have harmful effects on your body like hurting your lungs since its smoke, and killing brain cells.
Also I don't think Marijuana is physically addicting, its more of a mental addiction. Your body doesn't need it, you want it. Alcohol on the other hand takes control of your life.
