So I can't join the Marines because of a small tattoo I have on my left wrist... it's my moms name and it's 3 letters.

I'm mad af right now and tattoo removals are very expensive. He told me my only other option was to try other branches. So I spoke to the guys across the hall. the Army. They pretty much just shitted on the Marines. Even though I laughed with them, I felt like it was wrong of them to be doing that lol. They were talking about how the Marines get all their old equipment and leftovers. But I mentioned how the Marines has the toughest training and they said that's a lie.

I just wanted to be a Marine so bad. He told me "Just kill that Marine shit, man." lol that really hurt.

What do you guys think?

Why all of a sudden is there a policy on tattoos when their wasn't 2 years ago?

That's fucked up, especially your mums name, I get it if it's like a tattoo of a dragon, then that'd be believable, but then your mums name; that lady which brought you up since a child, and you want to remember her when your fighting for your country, these policies are messed up, hope you find a better solution, Cole.

Thats fucked up. If they wont even let you have a tat of your moms name then just go with the army considering they dont give a fuck what you have on your body. Your protecting your country and thats all that matters

You wouldn't want to join Marines, the Air Force treats you the best.

Fuck all that bull shit. If are country needs us, They'll be a draft. No need to die for stupid causes. We aren't in war and are men are still dying..

Well first of all, the marines shit on the army all day. Look at the requirements to get into the army then at the marines. Then look at the training the marines do and then at what the army does.

The marines are the ones that get all the best equipment since they are the ones that are behind enemy lines first. My cousin is a marine so I know what I am talking about.

They actually have that policy now?
I've honestly never heard of it, and it seems like bull shit.
I'd prefer Marines over the army any day though Cole.

My irl friend wants to be in the marine force recons which is the best of the best and i've even trained with him because you need like a perfect 30 to even attempt at getting in. But i was talking with some of the Army people and they told me that even if you do get a perfect 30 out of 30 or apply at a specific part of the marines you are NOT guarenteed to get in while in the army you are.

That would be a let down for me also Cole.
But if I was in your position and had a meaningful tattoo such as the one you have.. I wouldn't let that affect my future decisions.

I hope you understand what I'm saying. Keep trying, eventually you will find a way to make it.
