Paypal help

I need some paypal help. im new to paypal so I don't know how to do anything on it.

I recently made a paypal account and verified it through adding a debit card to the account and verifying it.

now it says i have $1.95 on the paypal account. I wish to know how to take the money on the gift card that is now linked to my paypal account and add it to the paypal account. No clue how to do it, and i've looked everywhere around paypal. I tried to send money hoping that the money would go directly from the gift card to the specified email...but it didnt and said I didn't have enough funds, so thus the reason I am here

I don't think you can but if you purchase something that can be paid for via paypal it will use up what's in the account first and then take some from the gift card to make up the remaining balance?
