As long as the archive is not viewable, I would support it. Posts in groups related to whether a specific user should be allowed to join should be confidential, regardless of whether the group is still active. Make an archive for those posts, sure, but ensure only mods+ can enter the archive.

So this idea is a waste of time.

It maybe useless for, but doesn't mean that others will have their post count deleted because of one user.

So wait, the Archive would consist of old, unwanted posts, right? Why should these posts count towards your post count?

Because they are valid. Not spam. They wouldn't be viewable.
