People don't get rep for being good now, friends + rep their friends regardless of how nice they are.

That is not true at all, I + rep if you are good and I + rep if you are not good, because I believe everyone is just as good. To an extent. And if they are your friend, then you like how they are. Why would you neg rep your friend if he is your friend?

What if I have a friend and he's a scammer? He deserves neg rep but since he's a friend he will get positive rep.

Bumping this up as Quad keeps deleting the rep i give him for no reason. I honestly have no clue how he got staff.

The rep system is disabled for mods, staff, and admins. So him removing a neg rep isn't abusing anything considering his rep shouldn't even be visible. It only is because of a bug in the system which I have reported to mybb, and is getting patched in the new update 1.6.8
