I understand some people live in 500,000$ houses and don't really understand this but if someone was with a knife was near you you would protect yourself. Not saying they should have shot him in this case but you never know the full story. A lot of people say cops suck, fuck cops! But in reality when your house is getting robbed who are you going to call?

I didn't say they were getting robbed. The same story has happened before but the police didn't shoot him and then the police officer got killed. Their just trying to do their job. Their not out hunting for people to kill just cause.

I obviously understand that. It's their job to protect and I support them for that but there was decisions made in this case that shouldn't of have been made.

I've never seen you make a reasonable post yet. Hopefully that changes eventually. This was a clear show of excessive violence by the police. The police are supposed to discharge their firearm only under extreme circumstances, and firing on a person armed only with a close quarters weapon was unnecessary. They would have had ample time to disarm him or fire upon him if he even looked to attack somebody, but he didn't. This is so far beyond the use of reasonable force in detaining a suspect.

Things like this are becoming more common. There was that video of where the police fired upon that dog in front of his owner, like four times, which is once again, excessive violence. Thankfully, things like this don't seem as common in Australia.

I don't make reasonable posts? Cool, I don't recall me asking. Second off all I already said the police took it to far. They had to have felt unsafe if they shot him, They wouldn't just do it because its fun. Thats my opinion im not talking shit about yours like you are to mine.

The police were unsafe? There were over 10 armed policemen, while he was trapped with only a knife.

Their 'unsafeness' or nervousness doesn't justify shooting him 7 times while he's trapped with an overwhelming amount of police surrounding the streetcar, which therefore would defeat the purpose of being overly nervous or unsafe for the police.
